In a significant update, government primary schools nationwide will now conduct classes from 9 am to 3 pm during the holy month of Ramadan, according to a notice issued by the Directorate of Primary Education.
The regular academic activities are set to continue in government primary schools for the initial 10 days of Ramadan, with a 15-minute break from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm allocated for Zohar prayers.
In a parallel move, the Directorate of Technical and Madrasa Education, Ministry of Education, has revised the madrasa holiday schedule for the holy month of Ramadan. Initially slated for a 15-day leave starting from March 7, the revised decision extends education programs in all madrasas until March 21.
This adjustment in the holiday schedule was announced on Tuesday through a notification from the Directorate of Technical and Madrasa Education.
Originally, the annual holiday list for primary schools during Ramadan had outlined a 30-day closure. However, on February 9, the Ministry of Education decided to revise this plan, opting for extended school hours to facilitate learning during the initial phase of the holy month.
