Dhaka experienced a brief spell of rainfall on Monday morning, with some areas witnessing showers while surrounding regions remained cloudy. Despite its brevity, the rain added a refreshing touch to the city’s atmosphere.
The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast indicating a chance of rain with gusty winds in 13 regions of the country, including Dhaka. River ports in these areas have been advised to display warning signal number 1.
Inland river ports are expected to face 45 to 60 kmph winds from the west or north-west, affecting regions such as Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Noakhali, Comilla, and Sylhet.
Monday’s overall weather forecast suggests a slight rise in day temperatures across the country, with night temperatures remaining nearly unchanged. Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions may experience rain/thundershower accompanied by gusty winds in two places.
Monowar Hossain, a meteorologist from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), highlighted the likelihood of rain or cloudy skies in various parts of the country until Monday afternoon.
