In a bid to enhance the quality of primary education, the government has announced plans to appoint 10,000 teachers within the next four months for government primary schools.
This significant step was unveiled by Primary and Mass Education Secretary Farid Ahmed during a workshop organized by the Mymensingh Divisional Primary Education office in Mymensingh.
Highlighting the pivotal role of primary school teachers in shaping the nation’s future, Secretary Farid Ahmed emphasized the collective effort needed for the development of primary education. He stressed that the goal is to transform Bangladesh into a knowledge-based country and mentioned a planned expenditure of approximately Tk13,000 crore within 16 months to ensure better primary education.
Secretary Farid Ahmed further added, “As part of the vision to achieve a Smart Bangladesh by 2041, additional development in the primary education sector is crucial.”
The workshop, chaired by Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner Umme Salma Tanzia, featured addresses from distinguished individuals, including National Primary Education Academy DG Farid Ahmed, LGED Additional Chief Engineer Md Abdur Rashid Mia, and Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh Dider-E-Alam Mohammad Maksud Chowdhury.
This move to recruit a substantial number of primary school teachers underscores the government’s commitment to fostering a robust education system and laying the foundation for a knowledgeable and skilled future generation.
