As the city prepares to observe the historic Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day on February 21, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) issues a vital traffic advisory to ensure a safe and smooth commemoration. Special traffic measures will be implemented around the Central Shaheed Minar area from 6 pm on Tuesday to 3 pm on Wednesday.
Road Closures and Diversions: To facilitate the observance, several routes will be affected, including Shahbagh crossing, TSC crossing, Doel Square crossing, High Court crossing, Shahidullah Hall crossing, Dhaka University Gymnasium grounds, Ramna crossing, Jagannath Hall crossing, Nilkhet crossing, Palashi crossing, Bakshi Bazar crossing, and Chankharpul crossing.

Pedestrian Routes: Pedestrians are encouraged to walk along Palashi crossing – Shaheed Minar – Doel Chattar – High Court crossing – TSC crossing and Shahidullah Hall crossing.
Vehicle Parking Space: VIP parking is designated at the Gymnasium Ground at Dhaka University, while law enforcers will utilize Mukarram Bhaban Field. The general public is invited to use the area from Nilkhet Crossing to Palashi Crossing for parking.
