The entertainment industry mourns the loss of the iconic actor, Ahmed Reza Rubel, who passed away at the age of 55 on Wednesday evening. The veteran actor suffered a cardiac arrest and breathed his last at Square Hospitals Ltd in the capital, as confirmed by Director Giasuddin Selim to Dhaka Tribune.
Ahmed Rubel’s untimely demise occurred on the day he was scheduled to attend a special screening of Nurul Alam Atique’s latest film, “Peyar Subas,” at Star Cineplex.
Tragedy struck when the actor fell unconscious in the parking lot of Bashundhara City Complex in Panthapath, where he was promptly rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, the duty doctor declared him deceased upon arrival.
The sudden loss has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and left his admirers in disbelief.
Born on May 3, 1968, in Rajarampur village of Chapainawabganj, Ahmed Rubel made a significant mark as a versatile theatre and television actor. His foray into films began in 1993 with “Akheri Hamla,” and he gained widespread recognition for his roles in acclaimed movies such as “Chandrakatha,” “The Last Thakur,” “Bachelor,” and “Guerrilla.”
Apart from his cinematic achievements, Ahmed Rubel was also celebrated for his contributions to the world of television, featuring in popular dramas like “Pratidaan,” “Nawab Gunda,” “FNF,” “Atithi,” and “Neel Toale.”
