Tetulia, nestled in Panchagarh and Dinajpur, experiences the coldest morning of the season as the mercury drops to a bone-chilling 5°C. Simultaneously, Dinajpur, another northern district, registers a low of 5.3°C in the early hours of Sunday.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department reports a mild to moderate cold wave engulfing 28 districts across two divisions. In Rajshahi and Rangpur, 16 districts are affected, while an additional 12 districts, including Gopalganj, Madaripur, Manikganj, Moulvibazar, Satkhira, Jessore, Kushtia, Barisal, Chuadanga, Tangail, Comilla, and Patuakhali, are feeling the winter chill.
Notably, the capital city is not exempt from the plummeting temperatures. Dhaka witnesses a dip from Saturday’s 13°C to a minimum of 12.8°C on Sunday.
Meteorological Department sources suggest a potential rise in temperatures starting Monday despite the current cold spell. Previously, Tetulia in Panchagarh recorded the lowest temperature in the country at 7.2°C on Saturday and 5.8°C on Friday. As winter maintains its grip, residents brace for further fluctuations in the coming days.
