Pabna District Administration Takes Swift Action as 1,664 Primary Schools and 528 Secondary Schools Brace for Extreme Cold Weather
In response to the looming cold wave and the forecast of temperatures dipping below 10°C, authorities in Pabna have mandated the closure of all primary and secondary schools on Tuesday.
District Education Officer Rustam Ali Helali and District Primary Education Officer Siddik Mohammad Yousuf Reza jointly announced the decision through separate press releases on Monday afternoon. The closure directive specifically applies to 1,664 primary schools and 528 secondary schools in the region.
Both officials emphasized that the schools will only resume normal operations once the temperature rises above the 10°C threshold.
As per the Ishwardi Weather Office in Pabna, the recorded lowest temperature in Ishwardi on Monday was 9.2°C, signaling the severity of the cold wave.
The ongoing policy of closing primary schools in districts experiencing temperatures below 10°C remains in effect, as authorities prioritize the safety and well-being of students and staff during this chilly weather spell.
