Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Implements Timely Adjustment in Response to Widespread Cold Wave
As the cold wave tightens its grip across the country, the government has rolled out a significant change in class schedules for all government primary schools. According to an official notice from the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Monday, government primary schools will now commence classes at 10am, marking a departure from the previous start time of 9am.
This schedule adjustment is slated to remain in effect until January 31, providing a temporary reprieve for students and staff from the chilly early morning temperatures.
The notification also reaffirms the continuation of the previous directive to close schools in districts where the temperature falls below 10°C. Safety remains a top priority, and the government is taking proactive measures to ensure the well-being of students during this cold spell.
Naogaon’s Badalgachi upazila and Dinajpur experienced the lowest temperature recorded on Monday, dipping to 8.1°C, underscoring the severity of the cold wave. In contrast, Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf upazila registered the highest temperature the previous day at 27.6°C, highlighting the diverse weather conditions prevailing across the country.
