The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a warning about a mild cold wave currently affecting northern districts, suggesting a potential spread in the coming days. According to the latest weather bulletin, Naogaon, Dinajpur, and Moulvibazar districts are currently experiencing a mild cold wave.
Sreemangal in Moulvibazar recorded the lowest temperature at 9.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday, while Sitakunda, Sandwip upazilas in Chattogram, Feni, and Cox’s Bazar districts recorded the highest temperature at 27.5 degrees Celsius, as per the bulletin.
A temperature range of 8 to 10 degrees Celsius is categorized as a mild cold wave, 6 to 8 degrees Celsius as a moderate cold wave, and below 6 degrees Celsius as a severe cold wave.
The bulletin also predicts the possibility of moderate to thick fog during midnight to morning, extending till noon at some locations. The overall weather is expected to remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky across the country.
