In a significant development, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) announced on Thursday that the Metro rail service on the Uttara-Motijheel route will see extended operating hours, starting January 20.
Since the inauguration of the Shahbagh and Karwan Bazar metro rail stations on December 31, all 16 stations of MRT-6 have been operational. However, the metro rail has been running exclusively on the Agargaon-Motijheel segment from 7:30 am. On the Uttara-Agargaon route, services have been available from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm.
With the recent decision, commuters can now benefit from the extended operating hours, as the train will run on the Uttara-Motijheel route from 7:10 am to 8:40 pm, starting January 20. This move aims to enhance the convenience and accessibility of the metro rail service for the residents of Dhaka.
