In a recent crackdown led by Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Uttam Kumar Sarkar, the Health Services Division has sealed the operation theaters of three prominent private hospitals in Jamalpur city. The affected hospitals include New Amena Hospital in Miapara, Asian General Hospital at Panch Rasta intersection, and Shafiq Hospital and Diagnostic Centre at Zia College intersection.
Despite providing healthcare services for an extended period, these hospitals were found to be operating without the necessary licenses, as revealed by the upazila health division. Dr Uttam Kumar Sarkar emphasized that the sealed operation theaters cannot be used until the hospitals obtain a valid license.
The authorities of the three hospitals remained silent on the matter and did not offer any comments in response to the actions taken by the Health Services Division. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
