In a weather-induced detour, a Qatar Airlines flight bound for Kolkata landed at Dhaka airport on Monday due to dense fog. The Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport received the flight at approximately 3:14 am. Kamrul Islam, the executive director of the airport, confirmed the diversion, stating that the flight returned to Kolkata at 6:30 am once the weather conditions improved. This diversion occurred during a period when no other flights were redirected to Dhaka airport due to dense fog. The incident follows similar diversions on Saturday, where flights from two Middle-Eastern countries landed in Kolkata instead of Dhaka. Normal flight operations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport resumed after 9:30 am on Sunday.
