Expressing profound concern, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Chairman Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed has addressed the tragic deaths of a woman and a child, along with the damages caused by a fire that occurred in Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar area earlier today.
The incident resulted in the loss of lives, with a woman and a child losing their lives, and four others sustaining injuries.

He called for exemplary punishment for those involved and stressed the importance of a well-planned initiative to improve the living conditions of slum dwellers, ensuring their access to all civic rights.
In addition, Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed urged vigilance among the public to prevent any destructive activities by vested individuals or groups.
