On Saturday, Farming Future Bangladesh (FFB) orchestrated a pivotal initiative, uniting interfaith leaders in a specialized program aimed at confronting climate change, food security, global health, agribiotechnology, and misinformation through evidence-based approaches.
The symposium, dubbed “Engaging Inter-Faith Leaders: Insights on Climate Change, Food Security, Global Health, Agribiotechnology, and Misinformation,” unfolded at Sheraton Dhaka. This gathering congregated eminent spiritual figures from Muslim, Christian, Hindu, and Buddhist traditions, emphasizing the transformative synergy of interfaith partnerships in advocating science-centric solutions.
Arif Hossain, the CEO and Executive Director of FFB, accentuated the invaluable contributions of interfaith communities in dispelling misconceptions, fostering informed choices, and championing an atmosphere conducive to evidence-based innovations.
The workshop fostered in-depth dialogues on cutting-edge climate strategies, debunked prevalent health myths, and spotlighted the meticulous scientific methodologies underpinning agricultural advancements such as GMOs and Genome Editing. Notably, since its inception in Bangladesh, FFB has been integrally engaged with Muslim faith leaders and Shariah experts, fortifying its mission with diverse perspectives.
Harnessing insights from this collaborative endeavor, FFB and its affiliates are poised to cultivate a nuanced strategy, leveraging interfaith leadership to navigate global challenges with science-backed solutions, resonating both in Bangladesh and across the global south. FFB remains steadfast in its commitment as a beacon of science-driven innovation, fostering sustainable development landscapes.
